Things to look forward to at you next PSCA race

Did anybody notice or was it just me? A claim made by the PSCA , on the message board that the event would be covered by live “televised” internet. It never happened. Family, friends let down.

A claim made by the PSCA that we would have 4 hours of testing. Testing started late and ended early? Why? Not to mention that many were turned around because announcements were made “ staging lanes closed” Only to let several cars run while others were turned around. We all paid the same amount . Close it for all or open for all. Bogus call

A cut of 3rd round qualifying. We paid for it. PSCA needs to follow through. If it was a track issue then lets go somewhere else. Several pointed fingers at the track manager.

Jet cars. While they are really cool, safety comes first. The track needs to be prepped without prompting. My understanding is the class following the jet cars refused to run . The promoter claims the jet cars run a “new fuel” that does not leave the track slick. Wrong, it does, and it’s been proven.

Pro classes were promised set run times. It worked for a while, then when back to the same old B.S. Do they have set times or not? You run the show, u fix it. Again fingers pointes at Mr. Blair. Did he really say, “if you don’t like it ….leave ?” If so………

The Final call for eliminations was made while 3+ rounds were still running in the bracket classes, leaving heads-up classes sitting in the lanes for almost an hour. Not good.

The Las Vegas crew complaining of fatigue on Sat night, and they had to be back early in the morning. The track had junior dragsters running prior to PSCA, they also had a Corvette club running concurrent. Did THEY miss any rounds? Heads-Up classes pay BIG money to get there cars to PSCA events. How bout mustang madness? Did PSCA rent the track or not? A 10 hour PSCA schedule reduced to 5 hours then shut down? Why?

A reasonable fix would have been a 3rd round on Sun. We paid for it. Figure out how to make it happen.

For those of you out -of -towners thinking of making the trip to the Super Nationals. Would you let this happen to you? All combined with street car tires mixed with slicks on the track, outrageous entry fees. ( Make sure you add up the entry fee AND your class fee plus your crew and the extra pit car and be prepared to pay $400 - $600 hard earned presidents to get in .

For the in -towners, PSCA “outlawed” engine combinations will be allowed for this Super-Nationals event. The mid-west and back east heavy hitters will be allowed to come clean house if they wish. A built in incentive for them to make the trip and take names from the PSCA boys. Kinda cool? Kinda not. Who supports the PSCA all year only to be handicapped for the final race? Without the PSCA regulars, there would be no Super-Nationals.

Peace Out

Not to jump on the band wagon, but I made the mistake of taking myself and my wife to a fontana race earlier this year thinking the pros were going to run on schedule. We arrived right at the end of the first session thinking no problem, we have Two more to see. At 5:30 pm we still had not seen a pro car run and left. In fact when we stood up to leave it started a stampede because everyone else was fed up too. I dont see why they wouldnt just stop the sportsman cars, run the pros through on schedule and then resume the sportsman cars again so all the pros get their 3 runs. I have to say bravo to this org. on to many levels to list. July and August were the best organized races I have ever attended.

Wow,Thats alot of typing!..I would have to agree with you and wish it wasnt so,I went to the race to watch,drive,crew,whatever...I was upset that my fellow racer/friends were so upset and I will tell you my biggest dissapointment.

The thing that upsets me the most is that Dave Murray has to be the fallguy for everything, past and present.

My other peeve is this, last year the PSCA did a great job getting folks in the stands at this race,as well as this year.Last year they had people in the stands watchin the quads, bikes, jets and then ran brackets afterward!.

This year I`m in the stands and there fillin up,they announce the jets to come to the lanes, people start heading up to the stands,Pro Street starts runnin and I think to myself, finally the people will get to see the heads up cars and be sold! Mel has been trying forever to get fans for the PSCA "street car" Races,Obviously it takes other things to get them there as proven last year, well he had them were he wanted them and Dropped the ball again, instead of just hyping up the jet cars over the PA System and running them AFTER THE HEADS UP CARS,they pissed off the racers once again and elected to run them after Pro Street and before Outlaw 10.5, XDR, H/S, W/S, L/S!? What gives? Do you not want or care if all those people see the other classes? Do you think they wont be entertained?,They had them there! Show them what you got, showcase the cars you have been trying to sell!,UNLESS you want to have Jets at every race to bring in spectators,I thing you made a terrible mistake, and,if you do want Jets at every race, that too is a bad decision.I still cant believe they made that mistake twice, but then again, maybe it wasnt a mistake and this is how it`s gonna be?,If so,I am bummed, because I have been to all but 1 race since the inception of the PSCA and I have lots of friends and fellow racers there,it just isnt the same when this stuff happens and it creates too much anomosity in the pits and really takes away from the "Fun" of racing. My .02 cents
